This is an ongoing project of our Club for the past 25 years. We decided to give it a boost by taking a literacy grant under the Global grant GG1523642 for a total budget of USD72000. The grant basically was to enhance the education classes for the kids, provide better infrastructure, provide training to the teacher, improve the vocational courses of tailoring, beauty culture and computer education to the young girls and boys in the community. The project in underway already benefitted more that 500 children and training is being provided through experts to the teachers.

The progress of the project activities and achievements as per the proposal are given in detail :-

VOCATIONAL UNIT :
Dress Making Cutting & Tailoring Training Unit which had 3 sessions with about 22-25 girls getting training.The unit was closed for COVID but opened from Sep21 onwards

Beauty Culture and Health Care Unit a Session with 15 Girls getting complete training . The unit was closed for COVID but opened from oct21 onwards

Computer Training Center. 3 sessions of Computer class going on with computers given by Rotary Int . The unit was closed for COVID but opened from October 21 onwards .Education unit The unit was closed for COVID but opened from Jan 22 onwards

Remedial Education,. upto 5th Class 50 children have been studying in 2 sessions

Midday Meals To begin with the members of the club contributed towards the mid day snacks of the children but latter Capt. Swadesh Kumar took this as his own responsibility till date. Khitchri is made every Wednesday out of the material donated by Rtn SS Peliaji.

Festivities and cultural activities
The unit was closed for COVID but opened from Sep21 onwards. Functions were held by RCDSM President on celebration of Teacher’s Day and Dewali .

Self Defence Training of the Vocational training Girls of the community was organized by IW club in Oct through the assistance of the Delhi police ladies.
