MATCHING GRANT PROJECTS

MG 69232 for US$ 12000 or INR 540,000: This Garnt is in association with The Rotary Club of Rancho Del Chino RID 5300 in California USA. Through this project we intend to impart the traditional, ancient Vedic and Puranic vocational and yoga teaching and Mid Day Meals to 100 Students of the age group of 10 to 17 living in the backward area of Kasani up in the Himalayas in Uttarkhand. This is an ongoing project for the past 4 years. Additional support of US$ 10,000 is being given this year also by the Rotary Club of Rancho Del Chino through a World Community Project, Attached is the Photograph of the participating Children.

World Community Project # 05723 for US$ 10,000: This grant was for a 207 Tata School Bus for Resident School Puga, near Leh in Ladhak. This is aproject initiated by HE Guy Darcey former Swiss Ambassador to India, Rotary Club of Ferney Volataire of France and our club. The Bus will be maintained by the Education Department of Leh. MG No. 0011505. - (Rs. 67,500/-) Education scholarship at Akshay Pratishtan, Delhi. Handicapped children are supported under Merit cum Means Scholorship. An ongoing project with support from Rotary Club of Stanmore and Edgeware, in UK

MG No. 0220556 - (Rs. 6,75,000/-) Support to disabled through education, hearing aids, wheel chairs etc. ,J at 'Deepalaya' NGO in partnership with Sun Rise Club,' Chicago, USA.

Computer Training - (Rs. 2,43,000) 25 computers were installed at Suraj Shan School, Vasant Vihar with the support of a Rotary Club in Japan. It is an integrating project wherein children from weaker section are trained in computer education.

Avoidable Blindness
MG 0317820, 0321511, 0423784 - (Rs. 12,33,000/-) 1528 Cataract operations were undertaken in Mewat (Haryana), Kumaon hills (U.P/Uttaranchal) and Delhi in collaboration with Helpage, Deepalaya, Rajendraprasad Eye Cenre and Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi etc.

Integrated Education for Livelihood Project - Kusumpur Pahari (Rs. 10,50,000/-) Kusumpur Pahari is the first venture of the club and it involves the members and the innerwheel. Community services at Kusumpur Pahari is an ongoing programme as the club adopted part of the slum cluster. The following programmes are implemented on a regular basis.

Non formal education, Remedial education, Adult education, Vocationl education (sewing / tailoring and embroidery), Health camps, self-help groups, Women empowerment, Homoeo clinic, Garment production unit, Livelihood programme (micro-enterprises), Nutrition project to school going children.

The project is undertaken with contribution of members and in cooperation with Innerwheel and SEARCH and funded by DewanFoundation.

Telefood Projects
Food production projects to relieve hunger were implemented in collaboration with FAO. Fish culture and Poultry farm at Sahadra Leprosy Colony, Fruit orchards and plantationat DAVSchool,VasantVihar,Sadhu Vaswani School, Anand Niketan were implementedinvolvingthe students and teachers.

  Inner Wheel -Distribution of Ration

Environment : Plantations were undertaken as part of Telefood project of FAO and support from other organizations like Dewan Foundation. Interact teams worked in developing fruit orchards at Suraj Bhan School, Anand Niketan and Chinmaya School, Vasant Vihar, Almond Plantation on the farmers fields at Ranikhet raised in co-operation with Himcon.

Pulse Polio - The universal Pulse Polio eradication programme of RI, District 3010 in collaboration with WHO and Govt. of . Delhi and India is implemented by the club in the Najafgarh Block of Delhi and it is satisfying that no polio cases are reported from this block during the lastfew years.

Water harvesting & organic farming FAO supported programme at Sadhu Vaswani School demonstrates water harvesting, waste recycling and technology driven organic farming.

Cancer Foundation Club members actively participate in the activities of Cancer Foundation. The club jointly hosts the annual meet and raises huge sums for the welfare of. cancer patients through the adopt a Cancer Patient Scheme.

HIV/AIDS Awareness Project -A mobile unit was launched to create awareness about preventing HIV. Collaboration was obtained from Youth of JNU in its implementation.

G.S.E. Team - The club hostedGSE team from different countries gave the visiting teams .an exposure to the realities of India and provided hospitality.

3H Project -The first 3 H (Hunger, Humanity, Health) Project ofthe club is accepted by R. I. The otltlay is USD 250000. This project is an .innovative programme for a period of three years and is to be implemented in co-operation with HIMCONin the Himalayas.
